An injured bald eagle was successfully captured this afternoon and sent to the University of Minnesota Raptor Center for treatment following several calls from a worried Mora resident. 

All excellent friends, as you may already know, come in a variety of sizes and shapes. But there are many character parallels between horses and cats. Therefore, Jennifer Boyle was not shocked to see her horse Champy (1 year old) develop such a lovely relationship with a rescue cat named Morris. (9-month-old). Morris was rescued by Jennifer after she went to an animal sanctuary. She was the object of the gorgeous black cat’s unceasing attention. He chose Jennifer as his person at last. The amiable cat was happy to get to his house. 

A Kentucky dad’s life changed forever when he and his wife welcomed quintuplets into the world. However, he never anticipated the harsh critique and hate that would come as a result of his parenting choices. 

The SEA LIFE Trust is delighted to confirm that two beluga whales are now safely in their new sea sanctuary care area at Klettsvik Bay in Iceland. Little Grey and Little White are enjoying their first taste of open water in 9 years, thanks to a leviathan relocation project.  The sanctuary, operated by the SEA LIFE Trust and which is the first of its kind, was built with the support of a generous donation from Merlin Entertainments and created in partnership with Whale and Dolphin Conservation.

Many of us have gotten in line early for something we really want, hoping to beat the crowds and be one of the first: nabbing concert tickets or a newly-released phone, for instance.  The scared, shy dog was put in a foster home until he could be put up for adoption — and there, he made a big impression on the foster’s neighbor, Dr. Brian Eberhart.  “He was there from around 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. when we opened. We saw his lounge setup outside and just had to talk to him and found out he was there to ensure he had a chance to adopt Elliot,” Mercurio told Newsweek. After the heartwarming moment went viral, Eberhart set up his own TikTok account to show his adventures with Leo. Videos show that the man and dog are very happy together, and can often be found relaxing together around the house. “Life is good together,” Eberhart wrote.

What a sweet story. It’s clear that this man truly loves his new puppy, and we know they will be devoted to each other forever.

Most edible mushrooms are relatively small, but in West Africa as well as Zambia, there’s one particularly enormous species that outgrows all the rest of them.

While the largest fungus (and organism) in the world is of the genus Armillaria and is currently consuming Oregon on 1,000 hectares, Termitomyces titanicus is the world’s largest edible mushroom, with a cap that can measure a little more than three feet (one meter) across. 

The Wolf pack is a social group, much like a family. The breeding pair, or parents, known as the alphas, along with their offspring—sons, daughters, sisters, and brothers—make up the pack. Although they are typically the strongest and most feared Wolves in the pack, alphas are not usually the largest Wolves in the pack. There are two to an unknown number of wolves in a pack. 

As much as we’re not really used to it, pigs are also capable of love and affection. In fact, they can be incredible pets that can shower humans with so much care.
