Clint Eastwood may be approaching 100 years old, but he’s still got it. The aging icon does not use social media frequently, but when he does, it is a sight to behold. 

 This Florida police officer never anticipated finding a new best buddy when he responded to a routine call. But the loving cop and the cute puppy he met fell in love at first sight. He only had to briefly take him into his arms in order to keep him there. Now, the two cannot be separated!

It's not the first time Bautista has rescued dogs from a Bay Area shelter. Back in 2019, the actor adopted two bonded 6-year-old pit bulls, Maggie and Ollie, who had been abandoned at Hillsborough County's Pet Resource Center after their owner had a baby. "I needed them, they needed me," 

A badly injured dog was rescued after being buried alive on an Oahu, Hawaii, beach by her owner, who was armed with a machete.

 Dogs are such intelligent, protective animals. That’s especially true for sheep herding dogs, who have an important job of watching over their flock and protecting them from harm.

Recently, one heroic Great Pyrenees herding dog went above-and-beyond, saving the sheep by fighting off a pack of 11 wild coyotes.

According to 11Alive, a pack of coyotes appeared at a home in Decatur, Georgia on November 3, going after the owner’s sheep. Homeowner John Wierwille said he was initially able to scare them off, but the coyotes came back later that night.

But thankfully, his 20-month-old Great Pyrenees livestock herding dog, Casper, was there and ready to defend the flock against the attacking coyotes.

After the coyotes got into the pen, Casper put up a fierce defense. The animals fought for 30 minutes, and Casper reportedly killed 8 coyotes. But the dog also suffered his own injuries, all to protect the sheep.

The remaining coyotes fled, and Casper took off after them, leading to the owner fearing that the dog had died in the battle. But after a search, John found his dog, alive but greatly injured.

“He looked like death, I mean he looked terrible,” John told 11Alive. “He came back home and he just kind of looked at me like ‘boss stop looking at how bad I look, just take care of me.’”

Casper suffered serious injuries to his back and neck, and also lost his tail. Vets and family were initially unsure if Casper would make it, saying he was found in “bad, bad condition.”

But despite the odds against him, Casper has been making a slow but steady recovery.

“He’s lucky to be alive,” said Dr. Susan Brosman of LifeLine Animal Project.

“He looks great now, he’s in good spirits,” added clinic supervisor Maisie Hale. “I love him. He’s such a good boy.”

Online fundraising reportedly covered the cost of Casper’s medical bills, which will cost about $15,000-$20,000. Casper still has a few months of recovery left, but for now he’s in good spirits and is being praised as a hero.

“He’s a hero for sure,” Dr. Brosman said.

 Burkhardt said, 'She is no longer the same as she was. But I'm still in love with her. Every time I go back home, I think it's a sad moment.'

Nothing can stop 90-year-old Peter Burkhardt from cycling all the way to meet the love of his life. Peter's wife is 17 kilometers away in a hospice in Apeldoorn.  

"Cold doesn’t bother me and with rain, you can put on a rain jacket. If it's really bad I’ll take a cab and else one of my sons will bring me. So I’ll always get to my wife," said Burkhardt in an interview posted by @u/kleutscher.  

When asked why is he doing this, he said, "Because I want to see my wife and be with her. We are married for 63 years so then you want to be together." 

It takes him an hour to cycle to the hospice from Diepenveen where he stays and an hour to cycle back. Burkhardt gets ready in his outfit which is a blue (ski) suit with a body warmer on top.  He looks left and right and cycles the roundabout at Zwolseeweg in Deventer. He then crosses a railway bridge, goes up a steep slope and finally takes a straight road toward his final destination, as reported by De Stentor. Burkhardt has been going to Apeldoorn for the past seven years.  

He said, “I have to take the situation as it is. I just want to be with her every day. I just can't miss her. I did it by car for a while. But even then I alternated it with the bike." Every morning, he packs his tricycle in the shed in his house as he hasn't had a car for some time.  

Moreover, his driver's license was not approved. He had his cycle in the shed so he took it out for the travel. Burkhardt has covered more than 40,000 kilometers in more than three years, which he finished in December last year. He sometimes does take more than an hour to reach Apeldoorn. He said, “It takes me about an hour. But in the heavy wind for a little more than an hour." "Without support, I really wouldn't make it anymore." He doesn't find the ride dangerous at any time of the day or night.  

However, he thinks the cycle path on the railway bridge at Deventer is too narrow. He wants them to do something about it. He said, “It really is a disaster. You can barely get past each other there with the two of you." Burkhardt knows that he is getting older and he agreed that there were many things that he could do 5-6 years ago but now he can't. He said, “I hope I can keep doing it. I walk a lot less now, but cycling is still going well."  

He was asked if his wife knows what he does for her every day. He said, "No, not that. It is completely outside her realm of experience. But when I'm back, I notice that she gives me a very nice hug every now and then." His only motivation to do this is in Apeldoorn.

Burkhardt said, “I want to see her, hear her voice. When I enter the nursing home I immediately know where she is. She is no longer the same as she was. But I'm still in love with her. Every time I go back home, I think it's a sad moment."

 An 82-year-old Walmart employee has been able to retire after a TikToker raised more than $100,000 for him.

Navy veteran Warren Marion of Cumberland, Maryland, received a check for $108,682 thanks to the generosity of online donors. Rory McCarty was shopping at Walmart when he met Marion. He learned that Marion was working 40-hour weeks at 82 years old.

Inspired by a video where a woman started a GoFundMe to help an elderly Walmart employee retire early, McCarty decided to try and help Marion in the same way.  

He wrote on GoFundMe: "Recently seeing a GoFundMe for a 82 yr old lady working at Walmart on Tik Tok, and seeing they raised money for her to retire for good. I wanted to help this Navy Veteran to live the remainder of his years traveling to see his kids in Florida. Get him off his feet for 8 hrs at a time. And do the things he would love to do that he may not be able to for financial reasons"   

"I just wanted to put something in motion and the Lord did the rest," McCarty said. McCarty's fundraiser received $118,575 from over 5,000 online donors. He hand-delivered Marion a cashier check for the full amount donated (after the GoFundMe fee was subtracted).

Marion said the funds will pay off his house and allow him to travel to Florida to see his children.  "All I can tell you is the good Lord has blessed me for what I did in my younger years," Marion told the Cumberland Times.
